Auto, MC, Camper

1) If your Auto or Motorcycle (300cc's or greater) is older than 1995, Maine will not allow the registration to be processed unless it has been previously registered in Maine.  They must be 1995 or newer.
• Motorcycles (299cc's or less) of any year can be registered.
• Campers of any year can be registered.

2) All Automobiles, Campers, and Motorcycles (see below exception) must be titled in Maine.
• (Exception) Any motorcycle or scooter less than 300cc's, no title is required.  Maine will not title it.
• (Exception) If your Camper has an empty weight of 3000 lbs or less, no title is required.  Maine will not title it.
• If your Camper has an empty weight of 3001 lbs or greater and is not already titled in your name, then it will need to be titled in Maine.
• If you currently have a title in your name for your Automobile, Camper, or Motorcycle, Maine requires that it be re-titled here (except as listed above with the exceptions).

3) Download, print, fill out and have the Limited Power of Attorney notarized.

4) If you need a bill of sale to complete the purchase of your Automobile, Motorcycle, or Camper, click here.

• Please have the following information available:
      A) Year, Make, Model
      B) VIN
      C) Trim Package (example: SE, SLT, XLE)  This is usually located on the truck lid (tail gate) of your vehicle.
      D) Purchase Price
      E) Mileage
      F) Did you pay sales tax at the time of purchase? Business use vehicles are not sales tax exempt.
            a) If sales tax has been paid, how much was paid?
            b) If sales tax was not paid, Maine charges 5.5% of the purchase price listed on the bill of sale or purchase invoice.
            c) If the vehicle has been previously registered by you, we will need a copy of your previous registration. No additional
               sales tax is required.

6) Documents needed in order to register your Auto or Motorcycle?
• Original Title
• Bill of Sale or Purchase Invoice.
• If sales tax has been paid, we will need a copy of the receipt showing the amount of sales tax paid.
• If the vehicle has been previously registered by you, we will need a copy of your previous registration.

7) Documents needed in order to register your Camper?
• Original Title if not already in your name.
• Copy of Title if already titled in your name.
• Bill of Sale or Purchase Invoice.
• If sales tax has been paid, we will need a copy of the receipt showing the amount paid.
• If the camper has been previously registered by you, we will need a copy of your previous registration.

8) Determine your shipping cost.

• If you have your own UPS or FedEx account, we can ship your registration and plate to you using your account with no additional fees from us.

9) Send paperwork for your registration.
• Please send your paperwork, along with a money order or cashier's check (unless paying by a credit card), to the following address using a trackable method such as Priority Mail or FedEx:

10) Credit Card Payments.
• Payment can be made with a credit card or by Paypal.  Once your paperwork has been received, we can call you for payment.  We accept all major credit cards.
